Monday 12 - Today I passed out our Project Information sheets on the country project, which we'll be working on for the rest of March. We discussed the projects and I showed a PowerPoint presentation on each country so the students could begin to choose which they wanted to work on for their project. Homework: list of top 3 country choices due tomorrow. Also, 50 cents or posterboard due tomorrow.
Tuesday 13 - Today we finished the PowerPoint and chose our country to represent. We practiced vocabulary having to do with our country. I checked posterboards or the 50 cents (for me to buy a posterboard for the student), which we will need tomorrow to start working on our posters. Homework: bring photos, information, and anything else you might need for your poster
Wednesday 14 - Today we began working on our country posters, mostly with putting on the name of the country and our names. Homework: bring photos, information, and anything else you might need for your poster
Thursday 15 - Today we continued working on our posters. Homework: bring photos, information, and anything else you might need for your poster
Friday 16 - Today was our last day in class to work on our posters. They will be due Tuesday the 20th. Homework: enjoy Carlsbad, but make sure to have your poster done by Tuesday.

- I was born in Provo, Utah and my Dad was in the US Army until I was 17, so I lived in Germany, Virginia, California, Kansas, and Utah when I was younger. For my senior year of high school, my Dad retired from the military and moved us to the little town of Springville, Utah, where I graduated from high school in 1997. I went to Brigham Young University and majored in International Studies with a minor in Latin American Studies. I took two years off college to live in Ecuador and serve the people there. After graduating from college, I went to Flagstaff, Arizona and earned my Master's Degree in Latin American History in 2005. Since then I've been teaching Social Studies and Spanish in the Phoenix area. I moved to Tucson in July of 2009 to teach Middle School Spanish at the Academy of Tucson Middle School. I have been married for 10 years and I have two children - Jarom and Rebecca, who go to the Academy of Tucson Elementary School
